Women in Trees
Join the movement!!! #womenintrees 🌳💃🏻🌴💚 inspired by book by Jochen Raib, who discovered this motif, when he collected photos from flea markets - most photos are from the 1920s-1950s, and the question is: what were all these well dressed women doing in trees? The answer might surface, if you try it out yourself. Who knows?
Stand Tall with The Trees
On International Day of Forests 2019, I conducted an event, Stand Tall with The Trees in the nearby forest of L'Observatoire, where I currently am an artist in residence.
Gallery Go
For the project in Shanghai I made a simple dress of white canvas. Imagine! Instead of painting a traditional landscape on a white canvas, I decided to cut it up, sew a dress from it and walk out in the landscape wearing it - becoming part of it.
MacRitchie Me
My journeys into MacRitchie, Singapore's wild forest, became a journey into my own perception of nature - and the deeper into the wild I went, the stranger everything became.
In an attempt to adapt to the forest and the strange strangers I encountered on my way, I designed new clothes, and soon I became a stranger to myself.
Can You Dance the Swedish Polka?
If Forestry is defined as "The science, art and practice of managing and using trees, forests and their associated resources for human benefit", then this might be a version of a kind of Female Forestry.
This video installation was originally shown as part of the exhibition "Who's that Tripping over my Bridge?" at Frederiks Bastion, Copenhagen 2002.
